I have now been using Leighton as my personal trainer now for over two years; we meet twice a week for one hour sessions. At outset we established where I was and what I wanted to achieve. Over the course of the last two years some of these goals have been exceeded and we constantly review my progress and reset goals. This is often done 'on the job' by discussion as we are training. I started training over five years ago when I was a little overweight and despite two previous trainers nothing changed. Nutrition is a favourite subject of mine and one which Leighton is qualified in. During a conversation on this subject we established that a weight loss programme should be started alongside our normal training meetings. From the start March 2010 and as a result of his advice I have lost in excess of one and a half stone and feel great. The only down side is I have had to buy a complete new wardrobe! I cannot recommend his services highly enough.

I used Leighton to help me to focus and build a training plan in preparation for my wedding and honeymoon. The honeymoon itself involved cycling in France over some of the highest roads in the Pyrenees and I needed help to be able to get fit and into a routine which would mean that this was more of an enjoyable experience than a nightmare. I also wanted to be able to feel healthy, look good for my wedding day and feel special.

Leighton provided honest and focused advice and tips which were tailored to what I wanted to achieve and constantly provided advice as time progressed. He was able to offer me appointments at my home which utilised the equipment that I had and provided one to one training within a comfortable environment for me.

At the end of my sessions with Leighton he provided me with a training plan going forward so that I was able to carry on the work already started with him. The sessions were varied, interesting and increased in intensity in line with my fitness, but at a pace which was comfortable to me, whilst pushing myself to that next stage. As a result, I looked fabulous on my wedding day as was able to conquer the challenge I had set myself of cycling up mountains in France with my new husband!

Training

Christmas of 2006 decided need to refocus my life and become healthy and drop a dress size or two. Join the gym and trained 2 to 3 times a week, in six months had dropped two dress sizes and felt healthier and much happier. Having someone there to remind me that I was important too and not just everyone else in my family kept me focused. Having my programme changed regularly helps to keep me interested and motivated.

Nutrition

Typical meals before = breakfast - 2 slices toast, mid-morning - cake, lunch - sausage roll, crisps and cake, evening meal - lasagne and chips, evening - wine and crisps. Now = breakfast - porridge, mid-morning apple, lunch - ham salad and fruit, evening meal = pasta with tomato based sauce or fish and vegetables, evening - fizzy water.

Training

During my pregnancy with my first child I decided not to exercise just to be on the safe side. As my grew more heavily pregnant my weight progressively increased from 8st 4lb to a post pregnancy peak 11 st 4lb. This is when I decided to contact a personal trainer to get me back to my normal weight and improve my fitness.

For a period of 9 months I trained twice a week with Leighton and at least once on my own. Training was always fun and varied with running, kickboxing and skipping in addition to normal weights and toning exercises. I mustn't forget squats……..many, many squats. I like to be pushed and that is certainly what happened.

I have seen large improvements in my muscle tone and fitness. Whenever motivation wanes Leighton will always put you back on the right path. I always enjoy overcoming the challenges presented in my training sessions.

Nutrition

Before our first session I decided to have a nutritional consultation as Leighton says "it's 50% training and 50% eating." The consultation was 2 half an hour sessions and I believe sticking to the advice made a huge difference. Most of the time I would lose 1 to 2 lb a week and I felt a lot healthier with more energy straight away. When the weeks came where I didn't lose weight I felt almost disappointed but when my end goal weight was achieved I felt like I'd really achieved something.
