1.
I don't like working out in the gym, what alternative do I have?
A lot of people don’t like
working out in the gym for varying reasons. In these circumstances
personal training sessions can easily be adapted to the comfort of
the clients’
home. A lot of sessions take place within the clients’ local outdoor
environment; sessions can take place in the local park for example.
2. I have struggled with my weight and fitness for a long time, how will
a personal trainer make a difference?
The purpose of a personal trainer
is to provide a specific programme based on underpinning scientific
knowledge. Each client has an initial consultation discussing barriers,
objectives and goals in preparation to beginning training. Once an
appointment has been made both the trainer and the client are committed
to the programme. This continued commitment would ensure results through
a continually adapted, challenging and progressive programme.
3. How long will it take to see
the effects of training?
The onset of training is approximately
3 weeks. This means that after 4 weeks training the effects of the
first week will show. This is why the body may still continue to develop
even after training has stopped. This is an approximation - some people
notice results sooner.
4. What happens if I can't make an appointment?
It is standard for a client to
give a client to give their trainer 24 hours notice of cancellation,
so that the session has the potential to be reallocated. Failure to
give this period of notice would incur the cost of the session.
5. How often should I exercise?
It is recommended that everyone
exercise for 30 minutes 3 times a week to maintain conditioning. So
those exercisers attempting to progress their conditioning should exercise
a minimum of 45-60 minutes 3 times a week. It is recommended that at
least 1 hour of this be with a personal trainer, to ensure continued
development and to monitor progress.
6. What equipment do I need?
The only equipment a client would
need is suitable clothing and footwear. Clothes that restrict movement
may not be suitable for the range of activity within a session. The
trainer will provide all other equipment for the session.
7. How will progress be monitored?
The client's trainer will keep a detailed log of each session and chart
progress, which will be shown to the client monthly or at their request.
8. How do I book?
A consultation and subsequent session can be booked by contacting Leighton
on 07866 621593.
